What is an AirSweep?
An AirSweep is a nozzle made of either carbon steel or stainless steel (304 or 316) with one moving part: the piston. This nozzle is dust-tight and quickly recloses and reseals after firing. The nozzle design (U.S. Patent 6,237,893) ensures that fines and feedback materials are locked out, preventing clogging and jamming.
A typical AirSweep system consists of strategically located Airsweeps, high-flow solenoid valves, an electronic sequence controller, and an air receiver. The system can operate independently or easily integrate with other equipment or automation systems. Based on flow requirements, the system is set to sequentially pulse bursts of high-velocity air along the container wall. Each pulse dislodges up to 8 feet in diameter of material, promoting steady outflow. AirSweeps eliminate bridging, ratholes, and material handling build-up.
Each nozzle emits a high-pressure, high-volume, 360-degree burst of compressed air to lift and sweep stalled material back into the flow stream, clearing the way for higher factory and material handling efficiency. Based on your needs, our engineers will determine the size and quantity of Airsweeps required, depending on the vessel and material.

USDA Accepted Airsweeps
USDA-Accepted Airsweeps: The Sanitary Solution Keep your production area clean and efficient with our USDA-Accepted Airsweeps. They effectively eliminate ratholes, bridging, and material buildup within hoppers and bins. Designed with sanitation in mind:
|
Tri-Clamp Tri-Clamp
Ideal for applications requiring easy installation and removal for cleaning or sanitation. AirSweep Systems' material flow technology prevents and eliminates hang-ups and blockages in silos, bins, hoppers, chutes, and more with coordinated 360° bursts of compressed air or gas. The sequenced pulsing of strategically positioned AirSweep units activates bulk material, promoting a first-in, first-out controlled flow. |
Straight Shooter
Designed for applications where a focused column of activation energy is required to reach and activate material that is not accessible by the standard AirSweep 360-degree pulse pattern. The Straight Shooter is available in all standard AirSweep sizes (3/4″, 1-1/2″, and 2″) and in USDA-accepted models. |
The DAZIC® line of electromechanical, electronic and inductive proximity speed switches indicate or control the rotary motion when attached to equipment.
The speed switches can be interlocked as part of a material handling system to ensure that if one machine fails, the entire operation will stop, avoiding an expensive and time-consuming pile-up of material. These devices are shaft or pulse driven and UL-approved. |
